I fell in love with Slack right away, mostly because of the interface. Everything was smooth and easy. But in the end, it's the time it saves me from NOT reading/writing email that is the best part. It took me a little while to adjust to the new pattern, but now I know when to put something on Slack and when to send an email. If I need to send a TON of information, it goes in email, but much of the rest goes into slack, and the right people see it at the right time. Since it's organized by channel, you know where to look first.
